What brought you to Pinball Publishing and the world of printing, publishing, art and design?
I applied here on a whim. I have a background in fine art and a seriously geeky mathematic brain process which made me a good candidate for the Project Coordinator position. I was working for a health insurance broker and a law firm and wanted to get closer to the arts. Finding Pinball was the perfect fit to my desire to be near artists and designers, while still exercising my mathematic quoter brain. Now I get to crunch numbers for some of my favorite artists’ projects!

Shoulder to Shoulder, 2008
What do you do in your free time?
I am a visual artist and dabble with social practice art. I just wrapped up my first solo show at Fontanelle Gallery and am going to take a break from drawing and work on some experimental sculpture. As for social practice, I have two ongoing projects: Homeschool Art, a nomadic affordable art gallery & The Portland Healing Project, a workshop series on alternative medicine and online resource for affordable healthcare in the Portland area.
When I am not frantically being over productive, I spoil my boston terrier, Scout, and bike around.

What creative people/projects inspire you these days?
I am super inspired by a lot of our clients: Kate Bingaman-Burt, Apak, Bwana Spoons & Grasshut, Mark Menjivar, Nora Aoyagi, Emily Martin, Ian Lynam, Tara Hogan and the list goes on and on. Not to mention Brent Wick in old production, his drawings aren’t too shabby.
Outside of the Pinball Allstars there is Lauren Nassef, Jessie Rose Vala, Tahiti Pehrson, Mark Dion, Thomas Hirschhorn, Kehinde Wiley, Tauba Auerbach….so many more.

What do you love about living in Portland?
Bike friendly living, the abundant amount of fruit trees ready for the picking, fantastic coffee, and genuinely nice people.
